I am 35 years in healthy adults. On Tuesday I woke with a sore throat. At 4:30 I was in bed with fever, chills, body aches, sore throat, worst of all time! (FYI - I have no almonds) My neck glands are swollen and painful. I was totally miserable and in great pain. Wednesday went to the doctor. He said he probably had a streptococcal infection, and not a culture, to be sure. He has me on 500 mg Amoxicillian every 8 hours. Who has been more than 24 hours. My neck is killing me, and lymph nodes are still swollen and painful. I'm popping Motrin 800mg darvocet for pain and ... But do not give me a big relief. What is fever? How long will I be?
