Which would be a baby shower for girls only I could send the invitation? For example, John and Mary, Mary, or are just a few if? Just curious, because I do not want to be rude.

Usually, your best friend or a relative care and all the calls. but you can choose who the shower. It was only my close friends of mine.
Simply send the invitation to women. And to write, politely, that only women are allowed, with the exception of the child's father and the father of Major (s). They will not attack anybody to do so.
